Building Skills for Daily Living and Recovery

The Therapeutic Rehabilitation Program (TRP) is a weekday day program for adults with serious mental illness, built around daily living skills, routine and the company of people working on the same things.

Days mix skill-building groups, one-on-one support and therapeutic activities.

The skills are concrete: budgeting, cooking, personal care, social skills, managing stress, solving problems and coping with symptoms.

Groups also cover mental health education, wellness, preparing for work, creative expression and getting involved in the community.

For many people the routine itself is stabilizing, and the friendships that come out of the program end up mattering as much as the curriculum.

Groups are run by mental health professionals who know each participant and their goals.

What to Expect

The program runs weekdays during the day, and participants attend two to five days a week. A typical day includes skill groups, activities, meals and unstructured time with other participants.

Goals are reviewed regularly and updated as you master skills and pick new ones.
