Crisis Support

Our crisis services run around the clock across Western Kentucky: a crisis and information line, a mobile crisis team, short-term residential stabilization, and crisis care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Getting started

Services we provide

A crisis can happen to anyone, at any hour. That’s why our crisis services never close, and why every one of them starts the same way: with a trained person who listens.

Counselors answer 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free and confidential, and the counselor can help you make a safety plan and connect you to follow-up care.

Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. RiverValley is one of 13 certified 988 call centers in Kentucky. You can also call our crisis team directly at 1-800-433-7291, or, if you are deaf or hard of hearing, our TDD line at 1-800-769-4920.

When a phone call isn’t enough, the Mobile Crisis Team can come to your home or wherever you are. The Phoenix Center offers short-term residential crisis care for adults who need more than outpatient support but not a hospital stay. IDD Crisis Services handle behavioral health emergencies for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You don’t need to be a current patient, and you don’t need a referral.
