Community Engagement & Partnerships

Our work extends past our own patients: partnerships, training, sponsorships and events across all seven counties.

Our Impact

These are our hometowns too, and we work on their problems alongside local partners, civic organizations and residents.

Economic Impact

RiverValley is also one of the region’s larger employers:

  • More than 700 employees across the region
  • Competitive salaries and full benefits
  • Professional development and career growth
  • Employee wellness programs
  • More than 100 new jobs created in Owensboro in 2024

Community Impact

Mental Health First Aid classes, crisis intervention training for police, prevention programs in schools: most of what we do outside the clinic is teaching.

We partner with schools, healthcare providers and local nonprofits, and each year we give more than $75,000 to area nonprofits whose work overlaps with ours.

Sponsorships

We sponsor local events, fundraisers and programs related to wellness, recovery and community connection. To request sponsorship, submit the application below and tell us about the event.

Resource Fairs & Events

Through the year we host and take part in health and resource fairs, workshops and family events where people can meet our staff and find out what is available.

RVBH Community Events

Three events we run every year:

Youth Mental Health Art Contest

Each spring, K-through-college students in our region submit art on the theme “Be Kind to Your Mind.” Hundreds enter every year, and we award scholarships to the winners.

Back to School Bash

Every August at our Lewisport clinic in Hancock County, children get free backpacks and school supplies, and families meet local organizations and health resources.

International Overdose Awareness Day

On August 31 each year we host an International Overdose Awareness Day event in Owensboro: a memorial for people lost to overdose, free Narcan, resources, and a family-friendly evening for anyone touched by substance use.
