Crisis and Information Line
The Crisis and Information Line puts you through to a trained crisis counselor 24 hours a day. Call if you are in crisis, worried about someone else, or just need to know what services exist.

RiverValley runs one of 13 certified 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline call centers in Kentucky. When you call or text 988 from this area, you may reach our local counselors, who know the services available in Western Kentucky.
You can also reach us directly at (800) 433-7291. Our TDD line for deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals is (800) 769-4920. Online chat is available at 988lifeline.org.
Counselors talk you through the moment, help with safety planning, assess risk and refer you to the right level of care. Calls are free and confidential. You don’t need insurance, an appointment, or even to give your name.
People call about suicidal thoughts, urges to self-harm, panic, grief, trauma, a substance use crisis, a relationship falling apart, or something they can’t name. Family members and friends worried about someone else call too.
If a call isn’t enough, the counselor can send the Mobile Crisis Team, arrange a referral to The Phoenix Center for residential stabilization, or set up outpatient care.
Call (270) 689-6879 or request an appointment online to start treatment. Walk-ins are welcome at our outpatient locations.

What to Expect
A counselor answers, listens, and asks enough questions to understand what is happening and whether you are safe. Then you work out next steps together: a safety plan, a referral, or a Mobile Crisis Team visit. Every call is confidential and free.
