CRISIS & INFORMATION HOTLINE
This 24/7 crisis intervention, information, and referral service is provided free of charge to individuals seeking help. This service is also equipped with TDD (Device for the Deaf). Callers may remain anonymous and receive help from trained telephone counselors. The guiding principle is that crisis intervention will prevent the development of more serious problems.
Since 1998, the local school systems and RiverValley have offered a Tip Line for persons to call (anonymously if needed) if they know of planned violence or problems within a school facility; this feature insures that quick preventive action is taken.
The Crisis Line began taking calls on behalf of the Kentucky Council on Problem Gambling (1-800-GAMBLER) in 1999. Trained staff provide immediate help and link the callers to needed resources free of charge.
